A memoir by Nasrin Rouhani about her life, her late husband Iraj, and their family. From fleeing persecution in Iran to a hopeful life in the United States, and then to a difficult and sad fate that awaited Iraj. This is a story of faith: a faith that was tried to the breaking point, but which lead to finding the strength to survive and keep going. It is about resilience, and about learning to listen to the Creator - that we are loved beyond measure and will not be left alone.

The Man Behind the Showcase review
This book is a page-turner, full of personal pathos, modern history of a tumultuous time in Iran in the 1970's and 1980's, and reflection of a life of hard work, faith, and trust. Written by Mrs. Nasrin Rouhani, the story is an awe-inspiring look at a life well-lived by both beloved husband, Dr. Iraj Rouhani, and cherished wife and mother. It took many years of navigating pain to finally write the story of a kind man well-loved and highly respected both as a professor at the University of Georgia in Athens, and as a jewelry store owner whose focus was always that of service to others. The family escaped persecution in Iran only to find tragedy in the U.S. through a senseless robbery. The book bravely includes an open letter to his murderer, written by Mrs. Rouhani, shedding light on the painful irony of a justice system that shifted sympathy toward the perpetrator rather than the victim, and a candid observation about faith itself. Highly recommend.
